At the start of the special session for job creation, Democrats seemed open to many of Governor Scott Walker’s proposals. However, once Citizen Action of Wisconsin and other groups began voicing their opposition, the tune changed. At a recent Joint Finance Committee meeting the partisan differences regarding job creation became apparent, with the GOP pushing efforts to impact the overall economic climate and Democrats yearning for specific subsidies for specific jobs. Furthermore, the two sides argue over whether cutting taxes should be considered the same as raising spending. MacIver News Service’s Bill Osmulski reports from Madison.
