yea they pocket the money and dont pass it down to the customers what it comes down to is greed. man i figure theres a certain point where more money doesnt matter if you are already a rich man. give me a job that gives 30$ and hour and a 40h work week thats more than enough money for me its pointless to have much more than that really.
March 10, 2010 at 6:58 am
@dasmushroomcult and the sad part is that those that say prices go down if minimum wage goes away, fuck prices went up in the 10 years minimum wage stayed at 5:15 hr
March 10, 2010 at 7:02 am
yea u are exactly right even with minimum wage now in califorinia you cant afford to live even in the nasty part of town with a full time minimum wage job. food is expensive and so is car insurance, gas, and rent. either way you are fucked
March 10, 2010 at 7:33 am
yea if they kept those plants in america so many more people would have jobs. sure maybe cars would be more expensive but at least you can find work. thats the reason america is fucking up. there are barely any working class jobs left
March 10, 2010 at 8:16 am
now jusy as the state of Oregon just raise taxes on the wealthy and on businesses. The rich are saying they are going to just pack up and move. The businesses are saying they have no choice by to lay half their work force off. some are talking of moving to other states, others are talking about moving over seas. Already.
There’s and old phrase, “you don’t bite the hand that feeds you”.
These taxs do just that.
March 10, 2010 at 8:59 am
@nfwvideo the tax cut for the rich you speak of wasn’t corporate tax cuts. But Tax cut for thsoe people that were already rich. Where their millions that was sitting in banks and in investments were being tax to no end. When he put tax hikes on corporates, they just uped and moved to countries where the taxs were less than 12% and not 35%.
March 10, 2010 at 9:59 am
and that was wrong it was not set up correctly
but again i ask how come the bush tax cuts for the rich outsourced jobs overseas?
March 10, 2010 at 10:05 am
@nfwvideo Cash for clunkers turned out to be a blunder. Most of teh money went on cars for companies from over seas.
March 10, 2010 at 10:30 am
im looking at the lack of job creation under bush’s tax cuts
but yes i agree there should have been provisions in cash for clunckers to buy american same should have wnet for the bail out
March 10, 2010 at 10:51 am
@nfwvideo Now you do know GM has more plants over seas then they have in the USA. So when Obama gave them the $50 billion in bailout money, most of it went over seas to give jobs to everyone but Americans.
Most of the cars that were being sold last in in the “cars for clunkers” were made over seas. Remember our plants were shut down.
March 10, 2010 at 11:38 am
@nfwvideo Right, they moved over seas for 3 reasons.
cheap labor
less regulations
LESS TAXS
But I’m with you on taxing them 75% for every penny of profit they make over seas.
As well as not allow they to ship any product made over seas to come to the US. Even through other countries like Mexico or Canada.
March 10, 2010 at 11:58 am
it only created jobs overseas by outsourceing them
it did notthing for job creation here in america
March 10, 2010 at 12:35 pm
what good is a job if you cant pay bills or live off of? if i made say 20 bucks a day and 10 wnet to gas and 5 to buy food how do i pay rent with 5 bucks left?
March 10, 2010 at 1:15 pm
@nfwvideo yep, that made them more money, then it help to creat more work the help to creat more jobs.
See how that shit works.
They can give layed people tax breaks all day long, but if they don’t have a job it means nothing.
March 10, 2010 at 1:24 pm
im sure a workplace shooting would be in order if u fired someone after minimum wage went up
tell me do u have a sign saying “no negro’s allowed” would u support that? i mean y not a business owner has a right to hire who ever right?
March 10, 2010 at 1:40 pm
like the rich got a tax break under bush?
March 10, 2010 at 2:10 pm
i love when people say that there are people only worth 2 bucks an hr how demoralizing i think
March 10, 2010 at 2:44 pm
Dude, minimum wage is not a living wage. It is impossible to pay for basic necessity living off minimum wage especially here in California.
Say your rent was $700 (Average rent in the poorest areas of California is over $1,000)
Gas + Electric $150, Food $100
Total: $950
Full time employment on minimum wage = $1,280 – taxes = $1,000 or less.. Which means you have $50 for everything else, it means no car, no bus pass or anything else.
March 10, 2010 at 3:31 pm
You are right we should be paying people 1 dollar an hour $1,160 minus taxes is way more than a family needs to live off.
If there was no such thing as a minimum wage companies would be paying a dollar an hour to people, if companies are not told what they can and can not do there is no limit to what evils they would do for profit .
Having a minimum wage does not hurt the economy, not having a minimum wage would put us on the same level as third world countries.
March 10, 2010 at 3:37 pm
I can live off minimum wage. Its easy, I don’t buy unnecessary things. Too bad you won’t be able to have the nicest cars, best groceries or nicest house. Oh wait, I’m sorry, we’re already giving those things to people that can’t afford them in the first place.
Its funny how people say its fair to raise minimum wage but no one thinks about how they just screwed over people that needed jobs too. Small business can’t afford more employees when their janitor is at $20 an hour.
March 10, 2010 at 3:46 pm
if thats the case then anyone who works for anyone else is a slave.
but i dont think so, i think if u voluntarily work for someone you are choosing to do that, its not compulsary work which is the work of the slave.
March 10, 2010 at 4:04 pm
“if the slaves work for their slave owner because there is no better opportunity, they aren’t slaves”
——-Really? What would you like to call them?
Maybe if the slaves were able to compete with the masters there would be better opportunity.
March 10, 2010 at 4:55 pm
and you are making people illegal, asshole
March 10, 2010 at 5:25 pm
thats bullshit, minimum wage exists because unions went to the government and made it law. And it shuts out people who are willing to work for less. It hurts competition, it hurts poor people, it hurts the youth. Helps the people who already have jobs. There are tons of people who don’t want to be part of a union. Alot of mexicans immigrants who rather work for 4.50$ a hour in america than live in mexico. But they never could get the job at 7.25$, you are taking away their only weapon.
March 10, 2010 at 5:49 pm
slaves are forced to work for their slave owner and if they runaway they get shot, if the slaves work for their slave owner because there is no better oppurtunity they aren’t slaves even if they don’t get paid anything more than bare essentials.
